With universities nationally becoming increasingly concerned by the low rate of participation in tertiary education, many see the real benefit to rural students in partnering with CEFA.
Newcastle University has joined a growing number of tertiary education institutions to get behind CEFA's Education Partnerships to encourage and support rural youth to achieve their tertiary education goals. Whilst not all of our grant recipients go on to tertiary education, 62% do, say Jocellin Jansson Executive Director fo the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA). Our Education Partnerships mean that students from our local education foundations around Australia (who receive a grant to attend a partner university or college) will be given an additional grant. This additional grant goes some of the way to assisting students with costs directly related to achieving their education goals such as accommodation, text books and course fees.
