A 20-kilometre walk beside, above and across the Murrumbidgee River from ‘Gunnong Jugrawah’ to Jugiong in NSW, the Walk of Wonders featured local human (and animal) ‘wonders’ along that way which amused, surprised, enchanted and spured the 220 walkers on to the finish line. Once there, the walkers were treated to a designer sausage sizzle hosted by the Long Track Pantry, a veritable gold mine of a store offering local produce and delicious fare.
Brainchild of Jugiong resident Jo Miller, the Walk of Wonders was held for the first time this year as a fundraising event for the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA).
CEFA is incredibly grateful to Jo for selecting it as the recipient of funds raised from her fabulous event. “This is such generous and gratefully received support from someone who truly recognises the value of what CEFA is working to achieve. The funds raised from the Walk of Wonders will go towards providing ongoing assistance to our local Education Foundations and establishing more foundations so that the opportunities provided to rural youth can be increased even further. The CEFA team had such an enjoyable time on this beautiful walk and we loved being able to participate and absorb everything that Jo arranged for our pleasure,” Jocellin Jansson, CEFA Executive Director said.
