We are all about investing in young rural people.

The Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA) is a national not for profit organisation that helps rural communities establish local education foundations to help local youth achieve their post high school education and vocation goals.

CEFA exists to assist rural youth in the transition from high school into further education or vocation opportunities.

All of our local Education Foundations embrace a broad spectrum of education and vocation pursuits. Just some of the pursuits we have supported people to do include apprenticeships, traineeships, cadetships, degree – diploma or certificate level studies or direct entry into a vocation such as a Jilleroo or Jackeroo.  We are all about investing in young rural people.

CEFA’s local Education Foundations provide 'non-cash' grants by paying the goods and service providers associated with youth in achieving their goals. This could mean paying the university bookshop for text books, paying the TAFE college course fees, or reimbursing for a pre-agreed expense.

We are not focused on applicant’s academic success.  Our three selection criteria include;

  • That you have a realistic goal
  • That you have showed commitment to achieving your goals
  • That you need some financial assistance to be able to achieve your goal
  • That you are 21 years of age or younger
  • That you have lived or attended school within a local education foundation community (see map in Education Foundations)
