CEFA has received a generous donation from staff in the International Markets & Trade branch of Industry & Investment (I & I) NSW which they won in a competition.
The I & I staff won $1,000 by helping Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC) to secure the second largest number of responses to EFIC’s 2010 Global Readiness Index survey. EFIC is one of I & I’s strategic partners and surveys Australian companies every year on their trade and investment activities. This year’s survey, carr
ied out in March, looked at the impact of the global financial crisis.
I & I, through active campaigning, raised awareness of the survey amongst NSW companies thus helping EFIC secure the largest NSW response ever in this annual survey.
I & I elected to donate their prize to a charity of their choice – and the charity they chose was CEFA!
Annabel Gay, CEFA Communications Officer, said of the I & I donation, “CEFA and I & I share similar aspirations to assist rural and remote regions wherever possible and to promote the ongoing development of these areas. We are so grateful to have received this support from I & I and are excited about this new affiliation.”
“The funds we received from I & I will be directed towards establishing new education foundations across Australia in communities which have expressed a desire to form a committee and become part of the CEFA family,” Annabel said. This will help to provide even more rural youth with the financial assistance and support needed to achieve their post high school educational goals.
Annabel and Jocellin Jansson, Executive Director at CEFA, attended a presentation of the donation at the I & I offices and thoroughly enjoyed meeting CEFA’s generous donors.
Thank you very much IMT for your kind support and commitment to rural youth in Australia.
