Mullaley.
Mullaley is an agricultural that produces wool, beef cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, lucerne, barley, cotton, oilseeds and sorghum and sits 38Km west of Gunnedah on the Oxley Highway. Falling within the Gunnedah Shire, the population is approximately 500.
The area is very flat and sits about 400 metres above sea level. Our climate is hot in summer with mild dry winters, although rainstorms in catchment areas occasionally cause flooding of the Namoi River.
The area were originally inhabited by Aborigines who spoke the Kamilaroi (Gamilaraay) language.
Whilst we have a local primary school, local youth need to travel either to Gunnedah or Coonabarabran to attend high school.
