More support for country students studying agriculture

The Country Education Foundation of Australia and Tocal’s CB Alexander Foundation have teamed up to provide support for students to attend Tocal College. The CB Alexander Foundation provides agricultural education through Tocal College and also manages a scholarship program for the College.

“The agreement between the Country Education Foundation and the CB Alexander Foundation makes a lot of sense”, Mr Cameron Archer, Tocal Principal said. “We are always seeking support for young people to attend Tocal and teaming up with the Country Education Foundation enables us to promote our courses in many rural areas in a way that was not possible before”.

“We welcome the opportunity to work with Tocal’s CB Alexander Foundation to enhance the level of support we offer young people in rural areas”, Ms Jocellin Jansson, Country Education Foundation’s Executive Officer said. “We see this partnership as a mutually productive one that will give more rural youth the opportunity to gain tertiary skills in the area of agriculture when without this assistance they may not have been able to”. ‘It is CEFA’s education partnerships with organisation like Tocal’s CB Alexander Foundation, that are providing more of our rural youth with the opportunity with of post high school education’.

Tocal College is located at Paterson in the Hunter Valley and provides full time training in agriculture and related industries. Graduates gain a range of practical skills and management expertise so that they are well-equipped to work in rural and allied businesses. The College also runs a range of programs for adults in rural and land management industries.
