CEFA Moves to the Country
In July CEFA made a tree change and relocated the national office from Sydney to Orange in the Central West of NSW. This move brings us closer to many of our local Education Foundations and strengthens our connection to rural and regional Australia.
Two staff work out of this new office: Annabel Gay who moved into the Chief Executive Officer role in June, and the newly-appointed Henrietta Hood, CEFA’s Communications and Projects Officer.
Katie Walker continues her role as Executive Officer from Yass, NSW.
Annabel brings to the CEO role not only her sound knowledge and experience of CEFA but also her comprehensive commercial exposure through the Macquarie Group and the philanthropic sector. Annabel originally hails from the South West Slopes of NSW giving her strong empathy with all of CEFA’s values and objectives.
Henrietta joined the CEFA team in August, making the leap from the corporate world to further her passion for making a difference for rural youth by improving access to education and vocation opportunities. Henrietta works four days a week to help manage the diverse array of CEFA-run projects focusing on enhancing the aspirations of rural and regional youth and helping to improve their education, life opportunities and outcomes.
Operating from the new central rural location will enable greater flexibility, reduce operating costs and allow the staff to visit and interact with the local communities more effectively – keeping in touch with the important issues facing our rural and regional communities and local youth today.

We remain focused on providing support to our local foundations and partners who provide the real benefits to rural and regional youth as they embark on the challenging journey of finding a career and moving beyond high school.”
