for the professions, strategic and applied research and flexible delivery of learning and teaching. The University's missions are:

  • To provide distinctive educational programs for the professions that prepare students for work and citizenship
  • To conduct strategic and applied research which is nationally and internationally recognised
  • To lead in the quality provision of flexible learning and teaching, and
  • To enhance its communities, which include:
    Rural and regional Australia
    Indigenous Australians
The professions, industries and students for whom we provide research and education, and
National and international institutions, scholars and researchers with whom our staff and students are linked

how the csu & cefa partnership works for cefa students

CSU's commitment to helping greater numbers of rural youth achieve their tertiary goals is demonstrated by their Education Partnership with CEFA.

To support those rural students who receive grants from their local education foundations, CSU provides additional financial assistance to first-year, full-time undergraduate students.

This assistance is in the form of $500 grants and 10 of these grants are made available each year. All CEFA first-year students will be contacted by CSU inviting them to submit an application for the grant to the CSU Scholarships office.

CSU assistance to rural students

CSU rural students are able to access a variety of scholarships and grants offered by CSU and the Charles Sturt Foundation. These are not limited to CEFA students alone - all students are welcome to apply according to the selection criteria. For more information on the range of scholarships available, visit: www.csu.edu.au/student/scholarships and also www.csu.edu.au/student/scholarships/foundation/.
