The Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA) is a wonderful grassroots initiative that has seen hundreds of young Australians achieve their post high school tertiary education, training and vocation goals.
For rural youth often the pursuit of further education and many vocations means they have to move away from their local community for a period of time or permanently. This can present a significant challenge both financially and emotionally.
CEFA's purpose is to provide rural communities with the know-how and support required to establish their own Education Foundations. These local foundations provide non-cash grants to young people from years 10, 11 or 12 who are leaving school and also students aged 21 years and younger who have deferred and need a helping hand in order to make the transition from school to tertiary education or other vocation a successful one.
Below is a list of our current community education foundations by state. Alternatively, you can find a foundation by using our interactive map of Australia.
