CEFA enjoyed a very successful meeting with staff at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) recently where a renewed Education Partnership was signed..gif)
Jocellin Jansson and Annabel Gay of CEFA met with CIT’s new Chief Executive, Adrian Marron and his colleague, Caroline Hughes and were pleased to also have CEFA grant recipients and CIT students Leith Collard (Braidwood) and Amanda Strickland (Yass) present for the signing.
This new agreement follows on from the original CIT and CEFA partnership of 2008 and commits to another three years of co-funding for CEFA students. CIT has committed to providing a total of $20,000 in co-funding each year for CIT students who receive grants from their local Education Foundations.
More than 30 rural youth have received support from CIT since the CIT-CEFA partnership began. In 2010 alone, eight CEFA students received co-funding from CIT, providing an additional level of support and financial assistance to help them achieve their educational and training goals.
CEFA is incredibly grateful for CIT’s ongoing support and financial commitment to seeing the opportunities of rural youth increased. CIT’s collaboration and encouragement is so important to the work that CEFA does.
