What type of work might I be involved in?
The types of work completed by Technical Trainees can vary according to location and the area of the business. Trainees in the Air Traffic Services Centres (ATSC) work predominantly with computer based systems used for Air Traffic Control. Those seeking the opportunity to work in both local and remote facilities might be involved in Communication / Navigation / Surveillance. Trainees with competent diagnostics skills, advanced soldering techniques and ability to use specialised test and measuring equipment may have the opportunity to work in the Central Module Repair Depot (CMRD), while those interested in calibration, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of test equipment used in civil aviation could work at the Test Equipment Maintenance and Calibration Centre (TEMACC).
What locations could I work in?
Positions are based across the country, with ongoing maintenance required at all of ASA's facilities. The main centres are in Brisbane and Melbourne but this type of work would give you the chance to travel further afield and to remote localities for short periods of time.
